Marissa Carpenter has been singing her whole life, much to the sometimes-annoyance of her older siblings. By the time she reached junior high, she was encouraged by teachers and friends to try out for school solos, sing in front of church, and later in high school, to join the praise team at church. While in high school, Marissa was involved in high school plays, musicals, band, choir, and chapel worship planning/leading, and she also enjoyed being part of regional honor choirs and all-state honor choirs for a few years, and later auditioned for and joined the Trinity Christian College choir and 12-person Honors Ensemble for all four years of college. She loves to play piano and/or sing for weddings. She took piano lessons for many years (1st grade through high school), and always enjoyed playing music she could sing along to. She currently attends Hanford Christian Reformed Church, where she plays piano, keyboard (and sometimes organ!) and sings with the worship team. When she has time, she loves to compose original songs.
Marissa is excited to encourage, educate, and support students in their love of music, allowing space for them to worship God to the best of their ability.
